How Long Will My Gift Box Of Chocolates Last?

The short answer is “Months.” The longer answer is “It depends.” As foods go, chocolate is quite long-lasting. That’s because it’s rich in chemicals known as flavonoids, which hinder the oxidation of fats. In addition, chocolate candy contains a lot of sugar, which is a preservative.

Those heart-shaped boxes displayed in supermarkets and drugstores starting in late January generally have a use by date somewhere between May and December. (The dates on different brands vary quite a bit.) The same is true for packages of individually wrapped solid chocolate pieces, such as chocolate kisses. There’s nothing wrong with long-lasting kisses, right?

The shelf life of chocolate candy depends in part on what’s inside the chocolate coating. Chocolate-coated fresh fruit needs refrigeration, or the fruit might spoil in a day. Solid chocolate lasts longest, cream-filled ones less long. If you’ve got chocolate-covered fresh fruit, refrigerate it promptly.  If you’re planning to save a box of mixed chocolates until next Valentine’s Day, into the freezer it should go.

Some fine candies have only “sell by” dates that tell the salespeople when to take the product off the shelf, so you’ll have to rely on your taste buds to decide how long these last.

When shopping for packaged candy, check those “use by” dates and buy the freshest candy available. You may find the ones with the latest “use by” dates at the back of the shelf since store managers, wanting to sell the oldest products first, put them at the front.

Easter Basket Full Of Easter Eggs And Easter Chocolates!

Easter to many christians is the most important annual religous feast of the year.Its basically celebrated in spring season as it’s the day Jesus was resurrected from the dead.So that’s why it’s a festive holiday with spring colors,easter eggs, flowers, and bunnies.

On this special holiday everyone prepares easter baskets with easter eggs. No easter basket is complete without easter eggs and easter chocolates. Satisfying the sweet tooth of yourself and your kids is the main purpose. Making chocolates and easter egg at home is a real easy task. You just need few things and few steps to make tasty chocolates at home.

For making Easter Chocolates at home you will need:

1. Double boiler or microwave.
2. Chocolate chips or disks( white, milk or dark depepnding upon the color you want.)

To make Chocolates using Chocolate Candy Molds:
1.Buy any easter chocolate mold shape you like. These chocolate molds typically have many cavities which would let you make many chocolates in one turn.Find large variety of Easter Chocolate molds at cybrtrayd.
2. Heat the chocolate using double boiler as per manufacturer’s melting instructions. Or if using a microwave then heat chocolate in time slots of 30sec till the chocolate is melted smooth.Chocolate should melt from spoon like a syrup.
3. Fill the chocolate molds to the top with melted chocolate and tap lightly on flat surface to let them settle down and remove air bubbles.
4.Then put the chocolate filled mold tray in freezer. Bite size chocolates will be ready in 5 minutes. Larger peices can take 10-15 minutes.
5. Take out the chocolate mold tray when chocolate turns hard,turn it upside down and gently tap on the table and chocolate candy should drop down. You may have to gently tap your finger on back of the cavity if chocolate doesn’t come out itself.
6. Wrap these chocolates in cello bags to preserve their freshness and place them in your Easter Basket.

I would genelly wear Chocolate aprons while making chocolates as I feel like a complete Chocolatier.
